Dear Diary ;
i shall never look at teachers the same way again.
gave tuition to three girls today-
with extreme differences.
cuz the tuition is free (cip), and the room is
packed with eager kids who wanna play
and the tutors are absolutely too sweet to
yell when the kids go out of control-
like jumping out of their chairs to play ball
in the midst of sally has 127 marbles
and maggie has 37 more-
how much do they have altogether?
think zoological gardens?
but with the cages wide open, and the zoo
keepers particulary at the mercy of
various primates. thats how scary.
thats what it felt like at first.
then i got to know sudah and ariel-
kids who really are fantastic, and very
intelligent (and persuasive)-
how many ways can you say teacher;
5 more minutes?
then i got to tutor linda, 10, who s really
cute and keen in math (i have got to
learn from that)
and talked to nurul, who folded paper boats
and poured drinks for all the tutors ^^
and laughed when iphrahim tried 'magic'
where legs were mysteriously kicked under
the table, also infamous for his hyena
bursts of laughter
and sharul, who prides himself on long
division-
it was amazing how the same children who
could make you burst blood vessels be so
fun to be around with at the same time
at one point, i also wondered if this was
what Jesus must have felt like spreading the
gospel.
it was like watching a young child so full of
potential, and knowing that so many dreams and
amazing things could happen if only she d
open her eyes and take her studies seriously.
knowing tt if only she d see the things
that d matter and work hard for it.
i m pretty sure He would give
up so much just for the little girl to realise that.
